Cosmetics and Aesthetics: Mouth and Lips
Lip Lift
Similar to other soft tissues of the face, the effect of time and gravity can cause elongation of the upper lip, adversely affecting the proportions of the lower face. Lip lift is a procedure that effectively shortens and re-suspends the upper lip to a more desirable size and position. This procedure can be performed either in a clinic or outpatient surgical setting, and can be performed in conjunction with other cosmetic procedures.
Lip Flip
A 'lip flip' is a non-surgical procedure that uses neuromodulators, such as Botox, to relax a muscle in the upper lip, causing the lip to "flip" and giving the appearance of a fuller upper lip, which is in contrast to injecting filler directly into the lip. It is also useful in managing a gummy smile with excess show of the upper teeth and central gums. This is a non-permanent option but can be done in the clinic with good results.

Injectables
There are a variety of indications for injectable treatments for the lips and perioral area. Neuromodulators like Botox can be injected to help diminish dynamic wrinkles around the mouth. Filler injections can be used to add volume to the lips, help define important lines and boundaries of the lip, and help fill in small static wrinkles. Injection treatments are well tolerated and performed in a clinic setting.
